About

Supported by her family from a very young age, she took oil painting classes between the ages of 8 and 12. After choosing all the artistic options available in high school, she began her college studies in Visual Arts at Cégep de Jonquière in 2013. At the same time, she started selling her work online through social media. She graduated in January 2016 and has since devoted herself fully to her art.

In 2019 she completed a certificate in artistic business, followed by the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute in 2020. In early 2026, she graduated with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Arts (Visual Arts) from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC).

Since 2022, Shana has been teaching acrylic and oil painting at the Ateliers d’Arts Plastiques de Saguenay, driven by her desire to share her knowledge. Her work has been presented in group exhibitions in Canada, USA and in Morocco. She is represented by Galerie Annick Perron and Galerie l’Original.

Artist statement

Her hybrid practice combines acrylic painting with digital art, exploring the relationship between the natural world and an increasingly technological reality. She begins with digital collages, manipulating the images through databending and incorporating glitches, pixels, transparency, and visual references to early computer interfaces and cyberculture. These compositions are then translated on the canvas and meticulously recreated with acrylic paint, airbrush, and stencil techniques. No collage or printing techniques are used in her works.

Through this process, the digital is brought into the physical world. The contrast between the precision and sterility of technology and the organic presence of animals is central to her work. She imagines technology as something that gradually engulfs nature, almost like a parasite, creating a space where the organic and the artificial coexist.

By merging digital processes with the materiality of painting, she seeks to push the painting medium beyond its traditional boundaries and create new ways of experiencing familiar references.
